What to Expect In Therapy

Therapeutic Approach

I strive to build a strong therapist-client relationship based on trust, transparency, and commitment. The therapist-client relationship is crucial to treatment and it is prioritized during therapy with me. Given my education and career, I have a trauma lens which means I center emotional, physical, mental and spiritual safety as my clients and I take deep dives into challenging topics. I also like to incorporate somatic practices (i.e.: mindfulness and body centered awareness) into sessions to help my clients improve integration of body, mind and spirit. I work holistically by addressing how stress and/or trauma are surfacing in the brain and body while also understanding how these symptoms are affecting  relationships to self and with others.

I mostly work with transitional age youth and adults, but I am open to adults of all ages. I practice sustaining a trauma-informed lens which includes acknowledging and having an ever growing understanding of how systems of oppression such as racism, the patriarchy, and capitalism impact one’s mental health.

I truly believe my role as a therapist is to help my client's safely look inward to unveil and develop the tools and wisdom they need to heal.
